Since 2003, Shelly Bautista has experienced the impact of massage on her overall physical and mental well-being. She now practices massage and draws on her former service as an educator to build meaningful, collaborative relationships with her clients. She excels in creating a safe environment to achieve individual bodywork goals.
Ms. Bautista specializes in pain and stress management.
Tension, trauma, certain illnesses, and post-surgical procedures can cause fascia, the connective tissue that encapsulates muscle, to become restricted. Myofascial techniques reengage that fascia and retrain muscle fibers to relax helping in regaining range of motion, dissipating pain or discomfort, and can facilitate healing so the body can function more optimally. Shelly is also trained in Eastern healing arts and incorporates Shiatsu and Thai techniques into her massage sessions.
Shelly's business name and logo are inspired by the effect manual therapy has on muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia. Once a nodule or adhesion is undone and separated, oxygen-rich blood can flow to reach muscle fibers that were previously contracted. In the logo, the turquoise circle represents a stagnant nodule and is followed by the orange wave representing the new flow of energy or Qi ("Chi" in Chinese medicine). The word "via" in Spanish, meaning passage, path, or route, speaks to that channel through which this energy flows. In Spanish, "manar" means to flow, pour out, or run through. The name represents the open path through which energy flows after massage, leaving the body and mind feeling balanced and lighter.
Shelly graduated from National Holistic Institute, College of Massage in Ontario, CA in 2021 and is fully accredited by the California Massage Therapy Council (CAMTC). In addition, she has been a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) since 2021. She earned her Bachelor's in Liberal Studies in 2004 from the University of La Verne, in La Verne, CA, and earned her Master of Education in 2006 at the same institution.
